Madrid

So we are starting our second day in Madrid and so far it has been lovely. Our last night in cadiz we went and watched the sunset which was stunning but opposite our hotel, which is why we never saw it. Afterwards we got gelato and walked around. There was more carnival festivities going on but this time we found the professionals. We watched four or five performances (from nightmare before christmas to men dressed as tables) and then went back to our hostel and packed.

We took a train to seville and I have become professional at laying down on two seats and napping. We had tortillas which are potato and egg pie type things, and are amazing (I know crazy I've been eating egg) and mom had a cafe con leche.

Our train to madrid was nice because they showed a movie and if you found the right channel it was in english, I finally saw sherlock holmes. We got into madrid and found our hotel with no problem. It is in a very good location and is beautiful for what we are paying.

We unpacked and went and saw the prado, the parts mom wanted to see and what Alicia and I missed. Afterwards we had a cold drink in a park and people watched. Alicia has been craving Asain food so we found her a thai restaurant and had an early dinner. It was refreshing to not have spanish food. Don't get me wrong I adore spanish food but after a month and a half its getting a bit much when that's all we have been eating.

We came back and napped and read then mom and I started getting ready to go out. Alicia decided she wasn't up too it so we left her at home. Mom and I created our own informal pub crawl and went everywhere from bars with stuffed bull heads on the wall to swanky outdoor patios. We ended up crashing Alicias night in by bringing euro beers back and sharing our fun.

We are taking mom to our market today and going to the palace, then we are eating at el botin the oldest restaurant recorded by the guiness book of world records. Should be a great day
