So as I predicted yesterday was an amazing day. We went to our market for lunch and had a bunch of different tapas and tasted new things. I do enjoy it there.
Afterwards we walked to the Palace. It was absolutely amazing inside. To walk the rooms and think that people lived there is insane. The rooms were very ornately decorated one was even lined in red velvet. We went to armory as well and the minute you walk in you see 8 fully replicated knights on horseback. With lances and all. It was stunning.
After the Palace we wandered back and shopped for a bit, mom got an adorable poncho cover up thing. Then we came back to our room napped and got ready for dinner.
Dinner was amazing. The waiters all wear white coats and jackets and carry white napkins. We sat in the lower section which is slightly underground. We ordered a bottle of cava to start and then got a basic house salad.
For entrees we all got something different and shared three ways. I got roast baby lamb, mom got braised veal, and Alicia got the roast suckling pig. We got green beans with Iberian ham as our side. We found it slightly ironic that all our meals were baby animals. We were a vegetarians nightmare. All the meat is cooked in their special oven which hasn't changed since the mid 1700's. we were so full after but decided to have desert anyways. We had pineapple with caramel and Spanish cream puffs. We left feeling so very full but very happy.
We had a few drinks out and came back early around midnight because mom had to pack. She just left for her train to barcelona where she is going to stay in a hotel and gets on her plane early tomorrow. Alicia and I are still in the hotel because alicia is sleeping. She didn't feel well last night and didn't fall asleep till 5. We moves to a hostel today and are taking it easy.
See you all next week!
